Have you ever done the Horizontal Denim Wriggle? How about the Jump-Around-Til-They-Fit? What would a world without the Yank-And-Hope look like, anyway? Millions of women worldwide do these and other undignified dances every day. Because unlike our fellow man, we don’t put our pants on one leg at a time.
Finding (and fitting into) the perfect pair of jeans has been a struggle for generations. (At least three, at the time of this printing.) Ever since Rosie put down her laundry and picked up her riveter, women have embraced the comfort, chic, and sex appeal of denim. But it still takes a keen style compass to navigate the mysterious blue waters of cut, fit, and washes. And even if you make it through all that, you can still wreck on the shoals of Muffin-Top Island!
The idea behind The Woodlands’ TATTU Jeans is that denim should fit like it was made for you. And that the best way to achieve this is to have it made for you. TATTU Jeans turns premium Japanese and Italian denim into custom-fit jeans in about an hour. They’re garnished with genuine Swarovski crystals, lovingly embroidered and embellished, and they fit like a dream. And Adcetera worked with TATTU Jeans to create a brand just as unique as their product.
From in-store design to logo treatments, from online (www.tattujeans.com) to stationery, Adcetera has helped TATTU express their fierce, unique identity to the world. Just like TATTU, Adcetera creates stylish, one-of-a-kind solutions that address your problem areas while demanding attention.
Also, both TATTU Jeans and Adcetera make your butt look amazing.

These days, you can’t turn on the TV or browse the Web without hearing or reading about America’s obesity crisis. But if there ever was a time to be a part of the problem and not the solution, this is it.
For years, Men’s Fitness and USA Today have ranked Houston as America’s Fattest City. This year Men’s Fitness dropped us down to 6th. So on Thursday, Adcetera did our part to get Houston back on top. It’ll be hard work, but I think we can bring the title back home.
And what better day to take up such a valiant cause than Thanksgiving? No longer a time for pilgrims and Indians to celebrate the plentiful bounty of the year’s harvest, Thanksgiving has transformed into a once-a-year “feastival” for cooks and diners alike to demonstrate their talents.
Adcetera decided to take it to a new level this year. Our office turned Thanksgiving into a pot luck tailgating experience. Everyone brought a dish (yours truly, in keeping up with an annual tradition, made bacon-wrapped appetizers), a lawn chair, and an insatiable appetite. Some tossed footballs. Others tossed back a few cold ones. Laughs and tears were shed over high-stakes games of “Cornhole.” We shared a meal, shared stories of past Thanksgiving meals, and started preparing for the insanity of Secret Santa (though that’s another blog for another time).
Although the food and the activities have evolved since the first Thanksgiving, the basic premise has stayed the same. It’s a time to give thanks for all the good things provided for us, and an opportunity to express gratitude for the people who make a difference in our lives.
In that spirit, and on behalf of all of us at Adcetera, I’d like to say with sincerity: to all our family and friends who give us invaluable support and cherished memories; to our clients who trust us to shape their customer relationships through strategic, creative communications; to our vendors and other partners who help make our concepts more tangible; and to my colleagues at Adcetera who work hard, work late, and make untold sacrifices for the good of the team—thank you.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Now go unbutton that top button and grab a second slice of pecan pie. Do it for Houston!

I’ve recently been working on a simple digital signage demo and one of the components required the current date and time to be displayed. I am developing this module in Adobe Flash ActionScript 3 and thought I could save some time by searching the web for a standard solution. Surprisingly, I was not able to find a workable solution that included the fix for single digit minutes, such as 12:01. Instead, all scripts displayed 12:1.
I have provided the full working code below to fix this issue. This code will display the current date and time in this format: November 19, 2009 | 1:15 pm
//start AS3 code
var my_date:Date;
var my_timer:Timer=new Timer(1000);
my_timer.addEventListener(TimerEvent.TIMER, onTimer);
my_timer.start();
var months:Array = ["January", "February", "March", "April", "May", "June", "July", "August", "September", "October", "November", "December"];
function onTimer(e:TimerEvent):void {
my_date = new Date();
var theHours = my_date.hours;
var theMinutes = my_date.minutes;
var ampm;
//Displays am/pm depending on the current hour.
if (theHours>=12) {
ampm=”pm”;
} else {
ampm=”am”;
}
//This subtracts 12 from the hour when it greater than 13.
if (theHours>=13) {
theHours=theHours-12;
}
if (theMinutes < 10) {
theMinutes=”0″+theMinutes;
}
time_txt.text = months[my_date.month] + ” ” + my_date.date + “, ” + my_date.fullYear + ” | ” + theHours + “:” + theMinutes + ” ” + ampm;
}
//end AS3 code

Join Adcetera and other local, tech-savvy Houstonites at NetSquared to hear from Stephanie Weaver of the Texas Bowl. She will be joining us to give an overview of the Texas Bowl game, how they got where they are and where they are going from here! We’ll also learn a bit about the official charity of the Texas Bowl: DePelchin Children’s Center
Come with your GAME FACE ON!!! This will be a fun presentation with a fantastic group of folks.
About the Texas Bowl
The NCAA awarded a new bowl game to Houston on June 27, 2006. The inaugural Texas Bowl was played in Reliant Stadium, home of the Houston Texans, on December 28, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. The Texas Bowl featured Kansas State from the Big 12 and Rutgers from the Big East. Rutgers finished their Cinderella season by winning their first bowl game in school history 37-10.
In 2007, the Bowl featured a clash of old Southwest Conference foes, TCU Horned Frogs (from the Mountain West) and the University of Houston (from Conference USA). TCU won 20–13 in front of over 62,000 fans. In the 2008 Texas Bowl, the Rice Owls defeated the Western Michigan Broncos 38–14. The game featured two high-scoring offenses, but the Owls, led by quarterback Chase Clement, jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. This was Rice’s first bowl victory since playing Alabama in the 1954 Cotton Bowl. Over the last three years, the bowl game has donated over $200,000 to DePelchin Children’s Center, the bowl’s official charity beneficiary.
Our success over the last three years has been due entirely to the community support we have received and our amazing volunteers. Because of this, we have taken a big step up in the bowl world and beginning in 2010 will feature a matchup between the Big 12 and Big Ten.
