Animation Process

Adcetera has a refined and perfected process for creating original animation content, following it from concept to completion.

Discovery

The first step in our process is to meet with you to determine your needs and decide on which product would best serve you. A creative brief is generated from this meeting, and the creative team begins working on ideas.

Concepts and Storyboards

Internally, we create three concepts that we feel best match your needs. Once you have chosen the concept you like best, our designers and writers collaborate to create a storyboard that reflects the onscreen execution of the concept.

Script Writing

Our professional copywriters are experts in crafting a visual story that is both engrossing and compelling. We work with you to determine how best to present your message. The script, when finished, becomes the backbone of the production, guiding the creative team in shaping the final product.

Animatic

From the storyboard and the script, our motion team is able to start building the animation. This basic, rough animation is referred to as an "animatic." It can best be thought of as a motion version of the storyboard. The 3D elements are usually not textured or fully refined, but the basics of the animation are present. Using the animatic, you and our team can make decisions about onscreen action, and changes can be made quickly and easily.

Production

During the production process, we will refine the animation presented in the animatic, and make editing choices to polish the animation to perfection. Here we use techniques such as 3D modeling and rotoscoping. We add special effects, onscreen copy and messaging, custom or licensed music, and voiceovers.

Final Deliverable

Finally, we deliver the product in your requested format. Deliverables include screen savers, demos, trade show materials, and Web banners, just to name a few. We can output your animation to a variety of video formats, for use with services such as YouTube, Vimeo, Hulu, and more.
